Wayfaring Stranger is an American folk song that refers to Christians' temporary presence in this world. But while I may travel this world as a stranger, I am not lost; I follow Jesus and my destination is in heaven.

With Brownback out, Huckabee gets my vote
It appears Sen. Sam Brownback, who I'd previously backed for the Republican presidential nomination, is ready to fold his hand, possibly to support a reasonably like-minded candidate who has honestly been catching my eye of late: Gov. Mike Huckabee.
David Brooks on the New York Times opinion page convincingly lays out what I've been thinking to myself about Huckabee. He's a great campaigner with a great story. Has proven appeal to Democrats. (He was governor of Arkansas, a very Democrat state with a largely Democratic state congress.)
Best of all, he's a what I want my Christian politicians to be like. As Brooks says in his editorial: "[Huckabee] is part of the new generation of evangelical leaders. Huckabee was a Baptist minister. But unlike the first generation of politically engaged Christian conservatives, Huckabee is not at war with mainstream America. As a teenager, he loved Jimi Hendrix, and he’s now the bass player in a rock band that has opened for Willie Nelson and Grand Funk Railroad."
Mike Huckabee in 2008. Yeah, baby!

You make some very good observations. I have personally met Sam Brownback and was VERY impressed. He is a good man. He also has shown wisdom in pulling out of the race when he did as he helps position Mike Huckabee to win Iowa and the nomination.
I just started hearing about Huckabee in the last few weeks. I'm liking what I hear. To me, if Oabama had a different view on abortion, he would be my perfect candidate. That's the kinda guy I like.
Ok.. Maybe not... The more I dig, the more I find things about Obama that are just not right. For example, I got one of those circulating emails today that I decided to check out. I found the following entry.
Interesting, huh...
I read the entry. Unfortunately, Obama's view on faith is exactly typical of most Americans. Private spirtuality, no one is going to hell, and so forth. For these folks, their religion is something they've made up themselves.
