God's justice: Our hope for a very unjust world

My heart sank when I read a news article about a mother murdering her six-year-old daughter because she believed she was possessed by demons. There must be justice in this universe. If this girl never experienced much love on this earth, then somehow there has to be a remedy. There has to be life on the other side of death that makes up for the inequalities, makes up for the injustices.

If for nothing else, I would believe in God for this reason alone: There must be justice. I'm not worried so much about the mother getting her just deserves, but thinking more of the victims in this world. The AIDS orphans in Africa. The child prostitutes in Asia. The mentally ill who are neglected.

Thank God the Bible gives us hope. There is a Judge of men, and only He sees into our hearts and can judge. Paul says he cannot even judge Himself because that role is for God alone. God will judge us. He will bring justice to the victims. May that six-year-old find peace and joy in His arms.

The very concept of justice stems from one believing that there is ultimate Justice. Nature by itself isn't very "just." It's eat or be eaten, disasters, sickness, etc.

But thank God for hope of a better life after this one.

Yes, I agree--hope is one of the main wonderful things about life in Christ. It's hard to believe that people can be so heartless in their treatment of their children.
