July 4th trip to Olympic Peninsula

On Monday and Tuesday, our family took a drive out to the Olympic Peninsula. We stayed at Forks and visited a couple nearby beaches. Monday night, after we spent a half hour in frigid beach wind, we ate dinner at a neat little fishing village on the coast called La Push. The next day, we went to Ruby Beach at low tide and checked out the star fish and sea anemone. Cora got to fly a kite for the first time but didn't like walking on the sand without her shoes. (She's kind of particular about getting dirty.) But she really like dipping her feet in some super-cold creek water that was emptying into the ocean (see pictures below).

A really big piece of driftwood!

This is her "lil stinker" smile.

The water is really, really cold!

And just for Bipin ... Cora and Papa in her $5 pool. This photo was taken last week.
