Pretty cool, huh? I work on the eastside and was just getting onto I-520 to go over to Seattle when the Highway Patrol blocked off the on-ramp. So I was sitting there. Eventually, I turned off my engine. Then I remembered the Chinese president was in town today and had a dinner scheduled at Bill Gates' house, which was on the way out to the lake. Ahh ...
So I knew what to expect when I saw the first few motorcylcle police cruise by ... police helicopter overhead ... black Chevy Suburbans holding security personnel ... then the limousine with little red flags waving cheerily in front! That was him! Yea, me, for seeing his car!
Say what you may about repressive political atmosphere and human rights violations, i still think it was pretty cool.

I worked in politics for years. No matter how many times I dealt with them, I still always got a vicarious thrill from seeing someone famous.
