I've been pretty busy lately, hence the sparse blog postings. God is busy in the lives of my family members and church friends, and there are lots of great encouragements to share. My younger brother recently went through the church membership class and has joined the small group that I am helping to start with my younger sister. He had been away from church for many years, but recently got fed up with hanging with Satan and decided to join God's "crew" instead. He has a tremendous gift for forming sincere friendships, which he can use to either pull people into godly things or not-so-godly things. He told me that he felt when he used to share drugs or alcohol with his friends, he realized that he wasn't actually doing them any favors. Now he's sharing Jesus!
My wife's brother-in-law had major surgery a couple weeks' ago, having to do with his intenstines, and is still recovering and getting fed through an IV. The good news out of this is that his family, including my sister-in-law, have accepted Christ. It was difficult for him to do this before, because he was young, healthy, and prosperous, and it's certainly no fun to be in the hospital with such a serious illness. But God is faithful, and I believe He will turn this trial into a big blessing.
Just wanted to share what's going on.
