I thought Obama's recent speech on race was great. I could hardly find fault with it, except for some of his big-government prescriptions for remedying the situation toward the end. I didn't get the feeling that it was something he cooked up solely to deal with his relationship with his pastor, but truely from his accumulated multicultural experience here in America. It was calculated, to be sure, but honest and forthwright. And, more importantly, I thought it exactly identified the hurtful stereotyping and bitter recriminations--on both sides--that prevent America from healing old wounds.
So, I'm still not voting for Obama because I don't agree with the man's stance on the issues, but I do think the speech was powerful in a good way. Please make sure you read the speech before you disagree!
