Wayfaring Stranger is an American folk song that refers to Christians' temporary presence in this world. But while I may travel this world as a stranger, I am not lost; I follow Jesus and my destination is in heaven.

Mixed-race headlines
The above photo shows my daughter drinking sparkling cider at a recent wedding. As regular readers know, Cora has a diverse background. Ethnically, she's three-fourths Chinese, with the remainder consisting of American English, German, and Irish stock. Nationally, she's American, but her parents hail from Malaysia and Thailand. The little boy standing next to her is also mixed. His father is African-American with some Native American heritage, and his mother is Laotian. (Check out Bipin Sen's blog for lots and lots pictures and video of cute Indian-Caucasian kids.)
What got me thinking about this was a recent New York Times article about Obama's candidacy and mixed-race heritage, and the ongoing changes in U.S. demography. None of this is news to me, but it's just interesting to read what the rest of the country is apparently finding out. At least on the coasts, we Americans are really mixed up!
