Wayfaring Stranger is an American folk song that refers to Christians' temporary presence in this world. But while I may travel this world as a stranger, I am not lost; I follow Jesus and my destination is in heaven.

Melvyn's dad passed away
One of the guys on my blogroll, Melvyn, recently lost his father to cancer. Melvyn is a lawyer in Singapore, and an earnest, thoughtful Christian. I don't know Melvyn in the traditional sense--only through blogging--but feel I know him more than many face-to-face acquaintances because he expresses himself so well through writing. I especially appreciate his message on death and dying based on John 11, the story of Lazarus. Condolences, Melvyn.

It's always difficult to lose a loved one. That he has moved on to a better place can give some a certain amount of comfort. But to lose a father.... This makes me appreciate my own a little bit more.
Hey there. Thanks for the kind thoughts. I'm glad to "know" you too, thanks to the power of the Internet and the spiritual bond we share in Christ !
How sad. It's tough... I'm not looking forward to that day and I'm hoping it's many years away. What a precious pic of your sleeping daughter, BTW! I remember the pics from when she was very, very little. She's growing up into a lovely young girl.
