The "One Book" meme

Bipen Sen's tagged me for the "One Book" meme, which requires those who've been tagged to answer a series of questions about books. (Link to the meme entry on Wikipedia.) OK, here I go:

One book that changed your life: The Gospel of Matthew
I was going to say the Bible, but then felt guilty for giving such an obvious answer. The Gospel of Matthew has lots of the famous parables and a longer version of the Sermon on the Mount. I would guess it has to be one of the most oft-alluded to books in literature.

One book that you’ve read more than once: A Farewell to Arms, Ernest Hemmingway
Read it twice and watched the movie adaptation to boot!

One book you’d want on a desert island: Ulysses, James Joyce
Who knows? I might be able to actually figure that one out, given enough time!

One book that made you laugh: The Screwtape Letters, C.S. Lewis
I remember hesitating to read this book, because somehow I thought C.S. Lewis to be a stuffy writer despite authoring The Chronicles of Narnia. Boy, was I wrong! The Screwtape Letters are a hillarious exchange of messages between two junior and mentor demons. I can't describe it justly--read the book!

One book that made you cry [or feel really sad]: The Old Man and the Sea, Ernest Hemmingway
The book's ending is classic.

One book that you wish had been written: Paul's lost Letter to the Laodiceans
Well, the letter Paul said the Colossians should exchange with the Laodiceans was certainly written, but has been lost. It would be wonderful to know what it contained.

One book that you wish had never been written: ???
Really, I like reading so much I don't regret any book being written. Now, if you ask me a book I wish I hadn't read, well ...

One book you’re currently reading: Introduction to the New Testament, Henry Clarence Thiessen
Yeah, I'm trying to be scholarly. My aim is to be a scholarly Charismatic Christian!

One book you’ve been meaning to read: Evangelism in the Early Church, Michael Green
I browsed it in the Christian bookstore and it looks awesome!
