Is Hollywood profiteering from U.S. culture wars?

I expect the upcoming Narnia movie, based on "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," to be excellent. Apparently, Disney believes many other Chronicles of Narnia fans would concur, and is actively promoting the film to Christians, spending five percent of the movie's marketing budget on "faith-based" groups.

But besides the touting virtues of a wholesome film, it seems Disney is profiteering from ongoing culture wars. As HollywoodJesus.com senior editor Greg Wright, a Christian film reviewer, observed in a recent AP story, "The tendency is to think we are engaged in this massive cultural war and to seize this opportunity and fight back."

Anyway, I'll see you at the theater.

This is my favorite book of all times. Well, all of Lewis' books are.

When I was a little girl and found out that Lewis had died before I was born, I cried. I wanted to have the chance to meet him, just once, and tell him how much it all meant to me.

Hopefully I will meet him some day in the afterlife.

I get teary just watching the reviews. I'll be all drippy and damp through the whole movie because THIS finally seems to capture the true story. I hope. And that means so much to me.

What I find incredibly odd is that there is a mass market for it, and that there are lots of non-Christians who are also excited about it...?
