S.F. Chronicle on Christianity in China

The San Francisco Chronicle has an article detailing the current state of Christianity in China, including a personal look at the family of the pastor who was recently jailed for printing Bibles. It's a great overview of the situation there, including historical information about the Taiping Rebellion that helps us understand why Chinese rulers see Christianity as a dangerous force. An interesting tidbit from the article: the number of professing Christians in Beijing has doubled over the last decade to 4.1 percent. In a country of more than one billion, several percent is a lot!

Thanks, ultra-liberal S.F. Chronicle!
