Rick Warren's in Rwanda

This guy puts his money where his mouth is. TIME Magazine has a story on his church's latest effort to transform Rwanda into the first Purpose-Driven Nation. This snippet especially caught my eye:
Warren also expects about 500 of the "small groups" that make up Saddleback to "adopt" individual Rwandan villages and begin sending short-term visitors in the fall.

I am a frim believer that Africa needs food and education, not religion. Let the people belive what they choose, and for God's sake, teach them how to feed themselves.

from what i read of the time magazine article, the intention is to leverage volunteer expertise in america to help rwandan hospitals, banks, schools, and other institutions.

in the book of james, chapter 2, the bible reads, "what good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith has no deeds? can such faith save him? suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. if one of you says to him, 'go i wish you well; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? in the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."
