Yesterday, I took my family down to Pike Place public market, where I took this photo of my daughter with a guy playing an erhu (a Chinese stringed instrument) in the background. It was a quintessential Seattle moment.
I love Seattle. It's a great place to live, not just because of the surroundings, but because that tranquility rubs off on the people. Folks here are more laid-back than out East, and are more often thinking about the weekend than about their next career move. Also, it's an incredibly Asian city, less so than Vancouver, B.C., but probably more so than Los Angeles or San Francisco, where Asians are more likely to live in an ethnic enclave.
And the rain? Well, ducks like it and so do I.
